Amazing ceramic bowls, vases….
Heesoo Lee, a ceramicist from Montana, hand-sculpts ceramic objects that resemble woods of vibrant aspens. Her design is motivated by grand woods. Vases, basins, and platters appear to sprout and twist ceramic limbs, and their transparent surfaces are covered in a profusion of vibrant clay foliage. Lee has a history in art; thus, his striking works resemble three-dimensional pictures of landscapes that you can grasp in your palm.
Every intricate vase is skillfully sculpted by Lee by arranging independently made ceramic parts into the correct arrangements. Well before initial fire, every item is then coated with several coats of colourful previously untreated. Finally, Lee makes a selection from a variety of finishing varnishes, each of which produces a distinctive look. Her fall-inspired sculptures are laden with lush ceramic flora in orange and red tones, while her winter-inspired pieces have barren limbs in cold, frosty colors. Lee’s colour palette enable her to perfectly portray the 4 seasons.
More of Lee’s ceramics with a natural theme may be found on Insta, and you can buy the items she currently has there.
