Cute and mini animals
Yulia Derevschikova, a Russian artist, created these wonderfully adorable woollen animals that closely resemble the Disney forest creatures from Bambi or Snow White. But you can simply hold them in your hands, besides just “coo” and “aww” at them from inside your TV (or laptop) screen!
Every charming little creature takes the artist at least 20 hours to create using the traditional needle felting method. Derevschikova delicately sews the woolen fibers together with a needle, creating fuzzy figures that appear to be coated in genuine fur. Every adorable artwork, which ranges from young foxes to small bunnies, is created in the artist’s individual, adorable manner. Several of the creatures have wispy whiskers, tiny noses, and large, beady eyes which really bring the charming figures to life in addition to their fluffy forms.
Since starting to make her woollen animals in 2015, Derevschikova has produced thousands of them. Her typical themes are forest animals like deer, rabbits, and mice, but on occasion, she also draws more unusual animals like llamas, bush babies, and even lion cubs. No matter the creature, every work demonstrates the amazing talent and meticulousness of this fabric artist. Derevschikova even goes above and above by taking pictures of them outside, giving them a more authentic appearance.
Derevschikova sometimes accepts orders, so keep a close eye on her Insta for news if you’d love to possess one of her felted critters. “The happy feelings I get when I deliver an order from the customer are very significant to me, it inspires me,” adds Derevschikova.
