Beautiful nature: veterinarians could save an unusual golden opossum that looks like Pikachu

If people have ever wanted to see Pokémon in the real world, they are in luck.

Pikachu is a cute and also extremely popular personality from the popular Pokémon franchise, in which adorable little creatures called Pokémon fight each other and also take part in various adventures.

Pokémon are really adorable, and they tend to be very wonderfully crafted. There is no doubt that many of us have imagined at one or more times in our lives what it would be like if Pokémon were real, and not just existed in the form of adorable animations.

Well, if you’ve ever wanted to see Pokémon in the real world before, you’re in luck… sort of.

Although it’s not a real Pokémon, this beautiful little woman’s unusual coloration has hit the net, with people excitedly comparing her to the popular Pikachu.

Hoewer, she’s actually a golden-tailed opossum!

A baby opossum was rescued after he fell off his mother’s back and was left vulnerable and alone.

Luckily, a good heart found and rescued her and brought her to the Boronia Veterinary Center and Treatment Facility in Victoria, Australia.

Apparently, golden-tailed opossums are just typical bristle-tailed opossums, just with yellow hair, not brown.

The golden color is due to a certain mutation that causes low levels of melanin.

And finally, while the most common color of brushtail opossums is brown, they can also be black, silvery grey, red, or yellow.

Unfortunately, golden opossums’ brightly colored coats make them stand out among predators, which is one of the reasons they are unusual.

However, this lucky little lady didn’t have to worry about all that. She received all the care, comfort, and security she needed after being rescued, and continued to live with her guardian until the time came for her to be released directly into the wildlife sanctuary.

The special appeal of the golden opossum excited many people and brought smiles to many faces, including ours.
