Amazing spider sculptures made out of old watches
Hungarian artist and designer Peter Szucsy thought it was time to make a change after 25 years of working as an artistic director and designer in the video game production industry. It was now time for him to build something else in the real world after spending years making his inventive creatures and animals come to life in a variety of fantasy online realms. Szucsy resorted to steel instead using pixels and vectors graphics, creating elaborate steampunk arachnid artworks out of bits taken from old timepieces and other discarded items.
My Contemporary Met quotes Szucsy as saying, “I never make an idea.” Because each aspect relies on what I discover in the thrift shops, it would be absolutely impossible. There, the overall design process takes place. When I have something in my hands, I will occasionally stand there and consider how I might use it or create something now. The artist is sure to avoid disassembling anything too valuable because he sometimes comes across highly rare and expensive antique pieces that are sometimes even still in working order, but he acknowledges that he sometimes seems like a “watch murderer.”
I have how many timepieces or watch movement patterns? Szucsy enquires in anecdote. “Roughly 300, but it’s still insufficient. Finding corresponding design, substance, and color parts for all the life forms is difficult. However, Szucsy’s inventiveness is unaffected, and it appears that the painter will continue to produce a large number of steampunk animals. He acknowledges, “I truly like the homemade production. I won’t be going back to my laptop, I promise.
