4 adorable puppies
In an alley in Redhill, Surrey, a kind Samaritan came across a litter of four abandoned Cocker Spaniel puppies.
The litter was quite unwell with acute diseases, had uneven skin, and crusty eyes.
They were taken in by staff members at Chobham’s Millbrook Animal Center.
After receiving careful care for months, the puppies, named Mike, El, Lucas, and Dustin, recovered beautifully.
Happy endings for Mike, El, and Lucas, who were adopted by lovely families, soon followed.
However, Dustin was still awaiting his chance to shine.
After taking care of Dustin since he was a weak child, the staff was sorry to see how unpopular he was with adopters.
The staff at the shelter started hiding the explorer dog’s tennis balls in peculiar places when he got bored there.
This activity was a game-changer for Dustin!
Due to Dustin’s incredible sniffer and search skills, the staff called the local police and recommended Dustin as a potential recruit.
Everything fell into place quickly, and Dustin was appointed as a new employee of the Surrey and Sussex Dog Unit!
Together with Officer Steph Barrett, Dustin (now known as Badger) searches for drugs, cash, and weapons on behalf of the law.
In his first 20 months of existence, Dustin has come a long way—from being abandoned on the streets to overcoming rejection to learning about his true calling.
He has our utmost respect and admiration, and we wish him nothing but success!
