Russian designer Alexandra Goltsova (of Mart Bag) creates lovely stitched handbags with flower themes and embroidered woodland animals as her inspiration. Goltsova’s cheery assortment of cross-body handbags and adorable wallets allow users to take a bit of the outside with them wherever they go.
Goltsova begins by painstakingly hand-stitching her embroidered pattern onto sumptuous velvet cloth. She then uses the fabric to create her distinctive teardrop-shaped purses, embellishing them with lovely chains and elegant steel fastenings. Goltsova always makes sure to choose a backdrop cloth whose colour contrasts with the themes in her paintings that are influenced by environment. One pattern contrasts an embroidered purple sprig with a dark purple cloth to lovely effect, while another contrasts a garden bird with a dark navy velvet to vivid effect.
