The baby foal soon finds a loving family
When he was unwell and pregnant, Millie was taken to the UK-based Donkey Sanctuary.
He was standing next to the sanctuary workers as she gave birth to her young foal.
When the baby was born, it was heartbreaking to witness Millie acting indifferently toward her infant.
She simply didn’t want her.
Without her mother, the little foal by the name of Ben was puzzled.
The staff made every effort to forge some sort of kinship between them, but in vain.
She lacked the experience necessary for motherhood.
The staff of the refuge was by the foal’s side every day of his life, offering all assistance they could.
They trained him and fed him with a bottle.
It was clear that he needed a mother who would take care of him and serve as a role model.
Additionally, he needed to maintain a social life.
Aunt Jingle, a horse who had raised her own foal, was to be introduced to him by the staff.
They got along well with one another.
Under her care, the foal began to thrive. In his life, he at last encountered a mother role model.
Ben is currently three years old and in the sanctuary’s care.
He is independent and brave.
Being surrounded by other donkeys who have already adopted him into their family makes him happy.
