The 38-year-old businessman and father of two has been dubbed a “caveman”.
The Briton turned an uninhabitable cave into a comfortable huge house of his dreams. And he got a cozy home almost in nature.
38-year-old businessman and father of two children, Angelo Mastropietro, is called the “caveman”, because he lives in a real cave, however, fully equipped and bears little resemblance to the dwellings of primitive people.

Angelo always dreamed of spending more time outdoors, but work prevented him from enjoying nature. Mastropietro was a successful entrepreneur and ran a recruiting firm. Once Angelo felt unwell and went to the doctor. The 29-year-old boy was then given a disappointing diagnosis – multiple sclerosis.
The disease frightened Angelo, made him think and reconsider his views on life. Mastropietro left his post and entrusted leadership to an assistant, while he himself went to his homeland – to Worcestershire. The guy wandered around his native places and accidentally stumbled upon a cave in Wire Forest. People used to live here, but since the 40s of the last century there has been no one inside. The ancient dwelling was put up for auction, and Angelo bought it to realize a very bold idea.
Interesting fact! The cave is considered to be 700 years old, but according to some sources, it is over 250 million years old.

For the cave, the businessman gave about 62 thousand pounds, another 230 thousand went to the arrangement. Angelo had to wait for a building permit for two years. It took eight months to create the project and prepare the space. And after a year and a half, finally, the cave turned into a cozy, modern and stylish house with a total area of 62 square meters.

From the cave, Angelo personally carried out about 80 tons of rock, from which a terrace was later built. The house has managed to equip four rooms, the interior of which is made in natural colors and natural materials such as stone and wood. Mastropietro did repairs and even made furniture himself.
The house has everything you need: running water from a well, a fireplace for heating, lighting for the entire space, sewerage, a floor heating system and even wireless internet.
The owner of the house, whose last name translates as “master of the stones”, says that he put his whole soul and passion into the construction, which he is very proud of. He feels here a special energy that heals, motivates and develops people. The house is called “Rockhouse Retreat”, and a room in it can be rented for $286 per night.
