Iconic television sets are reduced by an artist into exquisitely detailed miniature scenes

Everything is tiny and small here

These sets of well-known TV series initially give the impression that they are just pictures of the actual filming sites. But look more closely. You’ll see that famous places from hit television shows and motion pictures, such Monica and Rachel’s living room and Jerry Seinfeld’s kitchen, were all recreated in tiny size.

These works were made by designer Bridget McCarty, whose attention to detail is really nothing short of remarkable. The details that make these sets so distinctive have been provided in small (tiny) forms in addition to colour matching by McCarty. For the Friend’s house, for example, the gold photo frame that surrounds the peephole—which is perhaps small enough to fit on the touch of a finger bring the set to life.

McCarty tells My Contemporary Met, “I’ve been a tiny sculptor since I was 22 and it’s been my full-time career since then. “This was my attempt to fulfil my lifelong desire to be whisked away to a fantastic land.” It should come as no surprise that each scene can take anywhere between a few weeks to a month to complete. After it is finished, McCarty records clips of the location in use. She may be seen pouring a bag of chips into a tiny bowl in a film of Seinfeld’s residence that was expertly made using pepper seeds.
