A 2-year-old girl saved her mother’s life with the phone.
The mother of little Sophia taught her older brother how to behave in extreme situations. But when the woman needed help, her daughter was the first to respond.
A two-year-old girl saved her mother’s life with the help of Facebook.
Sophia Misen, 2, of Poole, Dorset, was not taken aback when her 28-year-old mother, Samantha, passed out in the kitchen.
The girl took her mother’s phone and pressed her finger to the sensor. She then opened Facebook Messenger, clicked on a picture of her grandmother, Debbie Baker, and was able to make a video call.
At this point, the 50-year-old grandmother was about 255 kilometers from the scene, in Herfordshire. She answered the phone and asked Sophia where her mother was and what happened.
The girl replied that her mother was not well, and then Debbie asked to turn the phone over and show it to Samantha. When Baker saw her face on the floor, she called an ambulance.
Sophia, along with her four-year-old brother Ethan, found a blanket and pillow for their mother and waited for the doctors to arrive and take Samantha to the hospital.
The Daily Mirror reports that the boy was stunned to see his mother pass out.
Samantha’s husband was not at home at that moment. And the children were alone with their mother in an unconscious state for about 45 minutes.
After Sophia made it clear what had happened, relatives who lived nearby came to look after the children.
It turned out that the woman lost consciousness due to dehydration and an intestinal infection. Now Samantha is completely healthy and is at home, but Sophia regularly checks on how she feels.
According to Samantha, she could not even imagine that Sophia would come to her aid in such a situation, as she taught her older brother how to behave in extreme situations.
“I rather expected help from Ethan, because we talked with him about what needs to be done. I couldn’t even think that Sophia remembers everything I said to her brother”, said Samantha.
She added that Sofia has always been a caring girl: she often hugged her mother, asked if she needed anything, and happily looked after her younger brother Finley, who is now one year old.
