A newborn otter
One of the cutest animals on the globe is without a doubt the little charming otter.
When a baby otter is in danger, no one can really just watch and do nothing, and the nice people who shielded the otter in the photo above did neither.
Just a few weeks old, the baby otter was separated from his mother after slipping into a canal.
This otter was having trouble keeping its balance.
He was fortunately saved by a retiree.
Then, the young otter was given up to the care of qualified staff at Taiwan’s Wildlife Refuge.
Eventually, he received specialized care from a team of veterinarians who made sure the little otter received the necessary treatment.
They reportedly gave the baby otter a name.
After much deliberation and consideration, they’ve finally settled on a name: Zoo Toby.
The very next stage was to choose the appropriate location for the otter’s release after he had recovered and was no longer threatening.
To get the adult otters to find the baby and take him in was the plan.
That turned out to be a major problem.
