The K9 police dog team is renowned for pursuing poachers and defending the environment. From an early age, they are taught to chase and bark at hunters. Due to their faster speed than a person, they manage to save 68% of the parks.
The unit is primarily focused in South Africa, where the shrewd dogs prevented the hunting of more than 45 rhinos. Since South Africa is home to 80% of these animals, poachers attempt to kill more of them. Because of this, the dogs’ function in this situation is crucial for keeping them.
The sensitive and intelligent dogs have undergone extensive training to become highly effective workers.
