Her name was Jez. Her rescuers estimate that she was abandoned for one to two months before she was found.

The two-year-old puppy was in poor health and dreaded meeting people. She would require a great deal of help.

After taking care of Jez for several weeks, Taryn sent a letter to his enigmatic former owners.

She recalls the struggles that Jez and the rescuers who are taking care of her had gone through.

It’s a heartfelt piece that’s worth reading on the difficulties and joys of nursing an abused dog back to health.

I’ve met some amazing people via my work in rescue, but even more amazing are the wildlife I’ve encountered.

I have faith that one day there will be more caring individuals than careless ones thanks to these creatures and these humans.

There are more folks like us and fewer people who abandon their dogs like you.

And it is this hope that enables me to go forth and repeat it, to save the following stray dog and to mend the following shattered heart.
