A man and two lion cubs
Nothing compares to the connection you have with an animal, particularly if you helped raise it.
One of those people who dedicates their entire lives to helping animals out of sheer love is Kevin Richardson.
While working at the Lion Park in South Africa, he saw a mother lion reject two of her newborn cubs.
Although some might have been hesitant to approach the pair, Kevin had a gut feeling that they weren’t.
To raise these cubs in a way that would enable them to mature into completely functional adults without the need for human assistance was the center’s mission.
After 7 years, Kevin made the decision to pay Meg and Ammy a visit. He was understandably concerned about their response.
He wasn’t sure if they would remember him since they hadn’t seen each other in a while.
Fortunately for us, Kevin approached the lions without trepidation, and he managed to get a photo of the incident.
One of the lions made the decision to dive into the water and swim up to her, shouting her name.
When she understood who Kevin was, she leaped into the water and gave him a bear hug, which is what happened next.
They are what Kevin calls his “soul mates,” and no matter how much time passes between them, they will always share a particular connection.
