A caregiver and enormous bear
The internet is flooded with a touching video of a large, 1400 lb. unusual kind bear seeking safety in the arms of its devoted companion.
At the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation facility in New York, the poignant scene was documented on camera.
The director of the organization, Jim Kowalczik, holds and cradles Jimbo, a young Kodiak bear. The sizable bear that was born in a cage at a wildlife park in California.
He was brought to the headquarters when he was a little child. He would suffer if released into the wild, therefore that was unfortunately not an option. Jimbo thus joined the Kowalczik family.
He’s not the only bear Jim and Susan Kowalczik waste their time with, though.
Since 1996, this kind couple has dedicated their life to helping injured and abandoned animals.
On their 100-acre estate, they now also have 11 bears, including black and Kodiak brown bears. Jimbo, who is 9-and-a-half feet tall and weighs 1400 pounds, is the family’s main member.
He might, however, easily be compared to a large teddy bear due to his placid personality.
They said, “The bears are our children. It’s because they love us just as much as we love them. Nearly as much as you value them, they adore you.
“Our bear family is very similar to any other family.”
Despite his enormous height, Jim behaves more like a child when he confronts Jimbo. They have frequently had private moments together, and the enormous bear has always looked to his caregiver for comfort.
But now more than ever, he needs him. When Jim shows Jimbo “some love and care,” things start to calm down because the bear is no longer as unpleasant and agitated as they were before he fell ill.
