Meeting every Wednesday, they gradually implemented their unusual plan.
May Etchenson from County Antrim in beautiful Northern Ireland once had a great idea – to knit a model of her own house.
Why not?
The woman loves to knit, so she took on this curious project. But that was only the beginning.
Mei showed her friends the resulting house (she is a member of a circle of knitters), made in great detail.
After that, the women decided to go further and work together to tie up the entire village of Cloakmills where they live.
Meeting every Wednesday, they gradually implemented their unusual plan.
The result was a complete layout of the city, including all the main objects: post office, taverns and shops, as well as an old shirt factory and a flax mill, around which the village grew.
As well as a playground and garden plots with planted cauliflower.
Mrs. Etchenson’s husband, Edgar, helped the enthusiasts find funds to buy fabrics and tools. The village model is made of jersey.
This outstanding work of knitting art has already been seen by one and a half thousand people (with a village population of only 1 thousand people).
The lucky creators of this masterpiece want to raise £3,000 to donate the proceeds to charity.
We wish these lovely ladies further success in this noble cause!
