When the dog’s eyes were gone, his close friend altered his eyes.
Foster mom Melanie Jackson noticed that something was wrong with the eyes of a golden retriever named Tao, the veterinarian analyzed this and informed Melanie Jackson that the dog had glaucoma. The doctor advised him to get rid of one eye because of the pressure, and then, 11 months later, Tao’s other eye had to be removed.
“It started in February 2019 — he had a normal early morning, everything was great. In the evening he behaved strangely, I really felt that he remained in one of the most uncomfortable conditions that I have ever seen, so we took him to the vet. He constantly ruined his face. The doctor said Tao had lost his sight, Jackson said.
The pressure was so great that Jackson had no choice but to help Tao recover from his illness. Shortly after Tao’s eye was removed, Jackson reinstated another dog to befriend Tao. A puppy named Oko later became a pet, replacing Tao’s eyes. Jackson developed the duet on Instagram and also chronicled Tao and Oko’s everyday moments.
Instagram photos show Oko sleeping with Tao, walking with each other, or even eating with each other. Jackson claimed that while Tao does not jump over the fence or stay close to her, he enjoys choosing walks and interacting with Oko.
